Problems when editing BLu-ray movie with Windows Movie Maker? Fortunately, there is an easy way to fix the issue. Let’s find it out here.
Have a Blu-ray movie, it does not work with Windows Movie Maker. I’m looking for a Blu-ray ripper to convert Blu-ray to Windows Movie Maker more edit-friendly format.
I saw Brorsoft mentioned in the related forum as a good way to rip Blu-ray to any format including WMV for Windows Movie Maker, so I decided to try it. First, download and install Brorsoft Blu-ray Ripper.
This is a smart tool specially designed for ripping and converting Blu-ray (and DVD) movie files to your wanted video and audio formats, so as to smoothly add them into Windows Movie Maker, PowerDirector, Vegas Pro, Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer to do further editing. The conversion speed seems fine and the output videos look good.
Loading Blu-ray to Windows Movie Maker
Step 1. Add Blu-ray movies
Insert the desired Blu-ray disc and aunch the program. Click Load button to import Blu-ray movies from disc.
Step 2. Select Windows Movie Maker supported format
Since Windows Movie Maker only supports WMV, ASF, MPG (MPEG-1) and AVI (DV-AVI), you can choose one format of them. Here I recommend “HD Video” > “WMV HD(*.wmv)” as the output video format.
Step 3. Start Blu-ray to Windows Movie Maker conversion
Simply click the “Convert” button to start encoding Blu-ray to WMV, everything else will be automated. If you have added quite a bunch of video files, it would take some time to convert. In such case, you can click Option and tick the box “Shut down the computer after conversion”.
After the conversion, click “Open” to locate the result videos and then you can import the converted files to Windows Movie Make for editing via its “Import video” option.
Additional Tip: Besides BD and DVD, if you wanna to change some digital files such as VOB , WMV, M4V, MP4, FLV, MOV files to NLEs including Windows Movie Maker, Vegas Pro, Pinnacle Studio, Premiere Pro, PowerDirector, the all-in-one Video Converter Ultimate program will be a nice choice for you.
